In August, 1994, more than 33,000 Cubans attempted to escape the island by sea. Two writers, friends since adolescence, are faced with a choice-continue struggling with the hardships of the island or brave the open water on a homemade raft. Ernesto Santana chooses Cuba, Jorge Mota chooses the Sea. This is the story of their struggles, their successes and the friendship that binds them.


En agosto de 1994, ms de 33.000 cubanos intentaron escapar de la isla por mar. Dos escritores, amigos desde la adolescencia, se enfrentan una decisin: seguir luchando con las dificultades de la isla o valiente el agua abierta en una balsa de fabricacin casera. Ernesto Santana opta por Cuba, Jorge Mota elige el mar. Esta es la historia de sus luchas, sus xitos y la amistad que les une.
