Description
Conversations That Matter
Mark Anielski and David Korten, moderated by Tom Potiowsky
November 5, 2009
Governor Hotel, Grand Ballroom
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The inaugural event of PSUs Conversations that Matter features Mark Anielski, author of The Economics of Happiness: Building Genuine Wealth and David Korten, author of Agenda for a New Economy: From Phantom Wealth to Real Wealth, and moderated by Tom Potiowsky, Oregon State Economist.
The theme of the inaugural 2009-10 series is Well-Being and the Economy. In the midst of a difficult economic time it is essential to explore how the well-being of individuals and society may be best measured and obtained. The Conversations series promises to raise critical questions, incite new thinking and offer participants a forum for exploring how best to serve the well-being of all. Each of the three Conversations features two internationally-recognized individuals who will offer insights to and engage in dialogue around key global issues of our time. The two distinguished guests will share their own perspectives and then engage each other and the audience in an open discussion. It is through this format that the Conversations series seeks to move beyond the sound bite media to a provocative, in depth discussion on the pressing questions of our time.
