Ear Heart Music: Killing the Songbird with Toys
Ms. Kveli is renowned for her sweet and airy voice, but she does occasionally scream, growl, ramble and chant. Our piano aficionado, Ms. Tamura refuses to grow up. Instead she pounds on her toys and elicits surprising and unusual sounds.
This night will be a journey to reveal unusual sounds made by the human voice, transmitted into music by nightingale Kjersti Kveli. Watch and listen as childrens toys are transformed into high-level musical instruments in the magical hands of Asami Tamura. Guest artist Dru Barnes will add fabulous sound art works with his turntable.
