Ear Heart Music: Glissando bin Laden and His Musichideen...live!
Glissando bin Laden and his Musichideen is a noise and drone band, with Caroline Mallonee (on violin), Jim Altieri (also on violin), Sam Pluta (on laptop), and Alex Ness (also on laptop, and sometimes on vocals). The noises and drones include: Swedish fiddle tunes, recordings of bees, Hindustani alap singing, sine-wave clusters, Buchla samples, and ratios between larger prime numbers than you're likely to find anywhere else. Jim Altieri loves listening. Through his compositions, improvisations, and software, he tries to share this love with other listeners. Based in New York City, Jim is an active composer and improvising violinist.
