Freedom to Fly: Social Justice Fund Aerial Benefit Show
The Freedom to Fly: Social Justice Fund Aerial Benefit Show will feature some of Seattle's most talented aerialists, highlight local issues of environmental justice, and raise funds to help communities address the root causes of those environmental injustices. All proceeds will go to the Social Justice Fund's Environmental Justice Giving Project, which funds local organizations that are building collaboration and movements within their communities in their struggle for a safe, clean environment.
About the Social Justice Giving Project:
Social Justice Fund (SJF) is an organization that distributes grants to social justice organizations working in the Pacific NW. SJF gathers groups of social justice-minded people into "giving projects" -- I've been a member of the Environmental Justice Giving Project since May. Together, we learn about social justice issues, we raise funds, and then distribute those funds in the form of grants. The giving project members (there are 18 of us) read grant apps from organizations, and select organizations that are addressing the root causes of the environmental justice issue.
