SheSings 2015
On March 6-8, the Women's A Cappella Association and its SheSings festival are taking Oakland, California by storm! Festival passes include two full days of informative and inspiring workshops, a Saturday night showcase that will serve as an extraordinary highlight of the weekend -- featuring headlining act ARORA (previously featured on "The Sing-Off"), as well as Oakland School for the Arts' Vocal Rush, LoveNotes, Honey Whiskey Trio and Voci-- as well exclusive access to our Friday night kick-off party (where WACA Vol. 2, the organization's newest compilation album, will be played and Oakland quintet The Riveters will perform). SheSings is open to all genders, ages and vocal styles!
WACA is thrilled to bring this influential weekend of music, learning and support to this exciting new location on March 6-8 in addition to being home to Oakland School for the Arts' Vocal Rush (of "The Sing-Off"), Oakland is a hip, vibrant and easily accessible urban center. And it's the ideal backdrop for an energetic, inspired gathering such as SheSings. WACA believes in empowering the female voice and spirit, and aims to educate and inspire as well as to create a forum of open discussion, mutual respect and unwavering support for current and future women in a cappella.
The first SheSings Festival gave WACA the opportunity to work toward these aims in a positive, nurturing and inspiring environment. The second festival expanded upon what had been created by adding the release of its first a cappella compilation and an informative panel discussion.
This year, WACA looks forward to offering more than ever to attendees through an exciting new festival format, informative and inspiring workshops, and a Saturday evening showcase that will serve as a truly extraordinary highlight of the weekend (and will feature headlining act ARORA (formerly Sonos), a powerhouse vocal band also previously featured on "The Sing-Off").So join in, and become part of the upward trend of pitch-perfect all-female a cappella!
