David Valdez/Jacob Zimmerman Quartet
Tristano School Tribute - the music of Lennie Tristano, Lee Konitz & Warne Marsh. Alto saxophonist David Valdez will be joined by Seattle alto saxophonist Jacob Zimmerman, David Goldblatt-piano, Chris Higgins-bass, Michael Raynor-drums for an evening of some of the most innovative and interesting 20th century Jazz compositions. The'Tristano School' was developing on a parallel trajectory to the Bebop of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. This ensemble will be smokin'!
