Midwest Pesticide Action Center Presents: Garden Gala at Garfield Park Conservatory
On Thursday, October 9th, 2014 join Midwest Pesticide Action Center in celebrating our 20 years of work protecting people and the environment at the legendary Garfield Park Conservatory.
Guests will enjoy the gorgeous greenhouse at the Conservatory, food from sustainably minded Chicago eateries, craft beer by Revolution Brewing, organic wine by Frey Vineyards, a fantastic auction, and music & square dancing with the Golden Horse Ranch Band.
Those who attend the VIP hour at 6PM will experience a private tour of the Conservatory, followed by farm-to-glass, seasonal cocktails by local distillers Letherbee and fresh juices by the greatly anticipated Owen & Alchemy in the Conservatory's enchanting outdoor gardens before the party opens to general admission attendees at 7PM.
Bid in our auction on a private 4-course dinner for 12 by internationally acclaimed Chef Charles Webb; a Green Garden makeover complete with design, installation, and plants of your choice; a stay-cation at one of the city's newest and most unique hotels, Thompson Chicago; or a Chef for a Day experience at Moto Restaurant. Can't attend or want to start shopping? Place your bids now through our online auction: www.32auctions.com/MPACGardenGala
Bring your appetite because we'll have delicious vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and meat options thanks to The Amazing Kale Burger, Chop Shop, Sunda, Limelight Catering, as well as juices from Pint.
Dust off your cowboy boots because the award-winning Golden Horse Ranch Band will be playing country and bluegrass tunes, teaching you how to do-si-do and promenade your way down Horticulture Hall. Once you're warmed up, award-winning DJ Tess of Slo 'Mo will close out the night spinning old school jams and new popular tunes.
A complimentary parking lot will be available for guests to use. The Conservatory is an ADA-compliant facility.
For the past 20 years, Midwest Pesticide Action Center has been working at the local, state, and regional levels to protect people and the environment from the dangers of pesticides through advocacy, education, and outreach. Midwest Pesticide Action Center creates innovative programs that enable municipalities, low-income housing communities, park and school districts, childcare providers, landscapers, and homeowners to reduce indoor and outdoor pesticide use.
