Crossing Borders
Crossing Borders is a new international jazz group led by the heralded Canadian jazz vocalist/pianist Jennifer Scott and S.F. Bay Area saxophonist Kristen Strom who is wellknown for her melodic, engaging style. The band includes guitarist Scott Sorkin (Count Basie Orchestra, Steve Turre & Michael Turre, Smith Dobson, Louie Bellson), bassist Rene Worst (Chet Baker, Joe Pass, Paul Horn, Freddie Hubbard), and drummer Jason Lewis (Boz Scaggs, Taylor Eigsti, Kurt Elling).
Crossing Borders showcases the talents of two dynamic female performers in vocalist/pianist Jennifer Scott and saxophonist Kristen Strom. The combination of Jennifer's voice and Kristen's saxophone is exhilarating. Comprising the powerhouse rhythm section are Scott Sorkin (Kristen's husband) on guitar, Rene Worst (Jennifer's husband) on bass, and Jason Lewis on drums.
Their music is cool and smoky, intimate and fiery, swinging and soulful. They will be performing music from their new CD.
