The Sound Of Music
Written by Richard Rogers, Oscar Hammerstein II,Howard Lindsay, and Russel Crouse, The Sound Of Music tells the story of a young, high-spirited postulant, Maria, who sent from her convent to be the governess of widowed naval Captain Von Trapp's seven troubled children. Maria uses music to lead the resentful children (and the Captain) from their strictly disciplined world to more joyful lives. As time passes, their relationship is threatened by the growing power of Germany's Nazi party over their beloved Austria.
The production is directed by former Artistic Director Kathleen Nation, and features choreography by current Artistic Director, Adam P. Blais, and music direction by Brad Howard.
All performances will take place at the historic Cumston Hall. 796 Main Street, Monmouth, ME. 04259
