Linnaean Libation League: A Garden Party at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
In honor of Carl Linnaeus, father of botanical taxonomy, brilliant author, fearless traveler and great man of culture, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Based present the Linnaean Libation League.
On August 13, the League's first meeting convenes at Brooklyn Botanic Garden*** for an evening of cocktails and carousing. To protect you and your exquisite summery outfits from poor weather, we are changing locations within the Garden to the Palm House, BBGâs historic conservatory and event space (see picture, below). It opens directly out on to Lily Pool Terrace, where water lilies and sacred lotus are in full bloom, and where you can wander when the skies are clear.
$15 admission includes free Lillet Osborne cocktails, $3 drafts from Sixpoint Craft Ales all night, $5 glasses of wine and live music.
Special Linnaean Libation League calling cards are scattered around Brooklyn. Find yours at places like Oslo Coffee, Roebling Tea Room, Walter Foods, Champion Coffee, Baked, Sample (ask behind the bar), Dumbo General Store, Outpost Cafe, Thistle and Clover, WeatherUp, Beast, and Ortine, or email nicole at brooklynbased dot net for more places.
