Concert For Lost Voices
On Saturday August 29, 2009 the music of folk icon Josh White, Jr., harmonica virtuoso Peter Madcat Ruth, former Silver Bullet Band drummer Charlie Allen Martin, award-winning humorist Mike Ball, the acapella group Soulstice, and other musical surprises will fill the air over Whitmore Lake, Michigan. The concert on-the-lake is a benefit to raise money for Lost Voices, an Michigan non-profit corporation that provides creative writing and roots music programs for incarcerated and at-risk youth.
Spectators will sit on the lawn or on pontoon barges on beautiful Whitmore Lake. World-class cuisine prepared on-site by Zingerman's Deli will be available for purchase.
This is the third year of this ground-breaking roots music festival.
