Dance into Summer

The PGK Dance Project (PGK) prepares for their third annual contemporary dance Summer Intensive. This intensive brings in students from across the country and internationally. At the end of the Summer Intensive, participants from the intensive, The PGK Dance Project Too, and finalists of "Another Kind of Choreographer Competition" will perform at "Dance into Summer" at Spanish Village in Balboa Park on Friday, June 27 at 7:30pm.

The PGK Dance Project's Summer Intensive focuses on training in ballet and contemporary techniques for intermediate and advanced dancers, choreographers, students, and professionals. As part of the intensive, participants will learn PGK repertory and have the opportunity to create their own works through the choreography component of the intensive.

Founding Artistic Director, Peter Kalivas, will teach PGK repertory that will push his athletic dancers through a space that amplifies his architectural background. Each piece on the program provides a different edge that hooks audiences in to the ability and energy of the dancers.

"Dance into Summer" will host The PGK Dance Project Too, Summer Intensive participants, and guests. This will be the second time The PGK Project will be presenting an evening of dance at Spanish Village. Previously, in October 2013, The PGK Dance Project performed a series of repertory in San Diego Dances at Spanish Village.

The PGK Project is a multi-faceted dance organization, originally founded in 1994 by Peter Kalivas while a professional dancer and choreographer in both NYC and Munich, now based in San Diego since 2002. Peter's vision through his professional dance company is to offer audiences easy access to affordable world-class contemporary dance throughout the year through innovative partnerships with businesses who host the company's performances at no or low cost in exchange for cross promotion.

The PGK Project presents Welcome to Summer on June 27 at 7:30 pm at Spanish Village in Balboa Park. Doors Open @ 7pm
