The Portland Project -- PWNW's Alembic Series
Performance Works NW Portland, OR
Performance Works Northwest's Alembic Series of guest-curated events presents The Portland Project on June 19 & 20, 2009 at 8pm.
A two-evening performance of dances new and in progress, The Portland Project weaves together three choreographic voices. Luminary choreographers/performers Gregg Bielemeier, Tere Mathern, and Touch Monkey (Carolyn Steward and Patrick Gracewood) investigate the nature of movement as juxtaposed with visual installations by Daniel Addy, driven by a text by Sarah Hart. The results are three distinct but related dance works that are set in muted, contextual environments. Additional performers are Taylor Young (with Bielemeier) and Robyn Kauts & Hannah Downs (Mathern). Lighting is by Jeff Forbes.
