Description
Manhattan, NY - A giant Mashed Potato battles a vampire with a huge head. Three weird guys sing about the epic struggle and some sock puppets dance along. An animated video describes the (amazing) tale. Uncle Monsterface, self-proclaimed sock puppet and human rock band extravaganza, premiere the live performance of their song , "Mashed Potato Vs. Vampire," from their latest full-length album, "This Is An Adventure", Saturday, June 6 at 7pm at Manhattan's premiere venue for emerging artists, The Tank.
Uncle Monsterface will also be performing their "typical" rock set - songs about lobsters, Nintendo, Gary Gygax, and love, as flanked by their "standard" assortment of inflatable dinosaurs, giant monsters, dancing sock puppets, and over-stimulating video projections.
Sonically, Monsterface is best-known for quirky songs laden with weirdness and geek-culture references that manage to mutate and re-combine into rock songs with genuine sentiment. Live, they've established a reputation for hosting an over-stimulating show featuring original animations and films, a sock puppet theater, giant monsters, and tons of energy. Uncle Monsterface is Marty Allen yelling and jumping about, (Paradise) Dan Brennan playing rock guitar, and (Perfect) Jimmy Bernardinelli on the keytar and trombone, as accompanied by some sock puppets and large monsters. Originally from Boston, Monsterface set up their home-base in Brooklyn in 2006. "This Is an Adventure" is their second full-length album.
