GLEAM & OTHER DANCES by The Carol Finley Dance Group and It Must Have Been Violet Dance Productions
Tickets: $10 General, $5 Seniors and Students, Free to Meredith Community with campus ID
"Gleam," a new collection of contemporary dance theatre pieces by Carol Finley weaves together reflections, glows, and glimpses. Meredith College alumnae performers Kaitlin Briggs, Kayla Mason, Mandie McCullum, Cara Mossman, Matney Murad, Sheryl Scott, Ashley Spears, and Courtney Patterson White (with her husband Bobby), bring to life a surgeon and her patients, a married couple, and a washed up rock star. Meredith interns Kathleen Holbrook and Nicole Lawson will also perform.
"& Other Dances" are virtual and live works from Carol Finley (North Carolina), Jill Guyton Nee (guest artist from Tennessee), Susan Haines (Washington), and Talani Torres (Florida) of It Must Have Been Violet Dance Productions. IMHBV brings choreographers and performers into collaboration across distances. Two of the pieces are virtual and live collaborations among the IMHBV founders.

IMHBV Dance Productions A contemporary dance company directed by Susan Haines (Washington), Talani Torres (North Carolina/Florida), and Carol Kyles Finley (North Carolina), IMHBV is a collaborative platform for performance and choreography for stage and screen. Violet exists at the end of the spectrum of light, just at the edge of the invisible. IMHBV creates work at the edge of the expected, merging dancers and ideas by real and virtual means. We have the ability to collaborate with dance artists all over the world, to connect with a vast internet audience, to manipulate and contextualize the performance space and medium.
