Garden Serenade Tour
GARDEN SERENADE TOUR: JULY 19, 2014 (10 am-4 pm).

This self-guided garden tour includes 15 spectacular private gardens in five clusters, around Portland, Oregon along with the addition of 18 musical performances. Some gardens include tropical, Japanese inspired, eco-landscape sanctuaries, English cottage style, formal rose gardens, urban mini-farms, and rolling park-like retreats with scenic garden vistas. They range in size from a standard city lot to 2-acres. The gardens are the inspiration of artists, botanists, nationally recognized garden writers, landscape designers, a professional landscape photographer and those gardeners with a passion for plants and gardening. Each garden inspires with its plant textures, foliage colors, garden art and creative design. Both whimsical and traditional garden art abounds in their corners, popping out among the plantings, from rooftops to entrances and even in toolsheds.

Add to these stunning gardens, light refreshments and 18 music performances from baroque to folk, jazz, instrumental, and vocal garden serenades. You'll have a summer event that is pure pleasure. The garden ticket is a tour guide that describes each garden with a directory of the music performances in each. Buy your tickets directly at Portland Nursery, Garden Fever, Cornell Farms, and Dennis' Seven Dees garden centers or use the easy online purchase through Brown Paper Tickets. IF YOU PURCHASE THROUGH BROWN PAPER TICKETS, YOU CAN PICK UP YOUR TICKET ON THE WEST SIDE AT 2505 SW CRESTDALE DR (97225) OR ON THE EAST SIDE AT 2945 NE 17TH AVE (97212) ON JULY 19TH BETWEEN 10 AM AND 1 PM.  You can pick up your tickets at either location--whichever one is more convenient.

Proceeds from the GARDEN SERENADE TOUR will benefit the choirs of the First Unitarian Church, Portland, in their July 2015 tour of Ireland to share friendship and music.
