New Voices in Live Performance: Invisible Now curated by fidget
Tickets: $10 online and at the door (reserve early to ensure a spot, as this event will have limited seating!)

thefidget space was founded in 2009 in Philadelphia as a hub for experimentation through time-based art. Our curation of new Voices in live Performance brings together works that explore states of being and consciousness. These artists are asking questions about queerness, feminism, presence, and embodiment through both topical investigations and abstract experimentalism.

<fidget> (Megan Bride and Peter Price) present a work-in-progress excerpt of Bridge's choreographic staging of DUST, a ninety-minute experimental opera by composer Robert Ashley (to premier in April 2015). Performed by five dancers with live interactive video design by Price.

Melissa Krodman/Kelly Bond are extending their duet, Colony, in which ideas of herd consciousness and collective decision making towards explorations of a more unified and Universal Consciousness are discussed.

Marissa Perel is an artist and writer based in New York. More than just a piece of sky (excerpt) is part of a larger work that will premier at the Chocolate Factory Theater September 17-20 2014. Based on the story of Yentl by Isaac Bashevis Singer, and the movie by Barbra Streisand, the performance expands on modes of queerness within poetics, dance, and music. Performed by Lydia Adler-Okrent, Marissa Perel and Jumatatu Poe.

Annie Wilson is a Philadelphia and body-based performer and creator who pursues new modes of performance to illuminate the way we live now. Lovertits is a burlesque/dance/theater/Little Women/American Revolution mashup executed by some of Philly's best performers.
