THE WRECKING CREW/Revolve May09 Film + Music Festival
Carswell Hall Winston-Salem, NC
Commentray from former Rolling Stone senior writer Parke Puterbaugh: Denny Tedesco's The Wrecking Crew casts light on the inner workings of the greatest fraternity of session musicians ever to work in the rock and roll realm. The greatest recordings of the Beach Boys and Phil Spector are the heart of the story, but this musical odyssey also includes such disparate figures as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra (daughter Nancy, too!) and seemingly every high-concept pop practitioner on the West Coast in the Sixties. Best of all, the story is related by the principals with much insight and great affection.
Note: Free, easy parking
Post-screening Revolve09 closing reception afterward at Meridian Restaurant, 411 S. Marshall. Drink specials for Revolve Filmgoers. All Revolve filmgoers welcome, not just attendees of this event.
