Celebrating the American Cheese Plate: The Festival of Cheese
The American Cheese Society (ACS) will host its annual Festival of Cheese in beautiful Sacramento, California!
One of the biggest events of its kind, the Festival of Cheese features the 1,700+ American artisan and specialty cheeses from the 2014 ACS Judging & Competition, highlighting the winners across a range of styles. In addition to an awe-inspiring assortment of cheeses, attendees can sample incredible accompaniments ranging from crackers to charcuterie, from preserves to chocolate -- plus wine and craft beer that guests can sample in their commemorative wine glass.
Just some of the items you can sample alongside the many cheeses at this event are:
-Craft beer from Rogue Ales and Goose Island Brewing
-Wines and specialty foods from Nugget Market
-Canadian specialties from Foods of Quebec
-Cured meats, sausages, and charcuterie from Fra' Mani Handcrafted Foods, Creminelli Fine Meats, Olli Salumeria, and Olympic Provisions
-Specialty foods from Fortune Gourmet
-Crispbread and crackers from 34 Degrees, Effie's Homemade, La Panzanella, Partners, Venus Wafers, and more
-Mediterranean specialty foods from Forever Cheese/Mitica
-Pates from Alexian Pate and Les Trois Petits Cochons
-California-grown endive from California Endive Farms
-California figs and spreads from Valley Fig Growers
The Festival of Cheese is open to the general public on Friday, August 1 from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. ACS members are admitted beginning at 6:00 PM.
Tickets are available for $60/person and include unlimited food samples, and samples of beer, wine, and cider.
**Note: If you plan to attend the ACS Conference & Competition in Sacramento (July 29-August 1), the Festival of Cheese is included with a full conference registration or a Friday Day Pass. Conference registration is now open at http://www.cheesesociety.org.**
