Many of us have left the faiths of our forebears, unable to reconcile the stories and myths of the ages with the Age of Reason. Yet our souls need more than than the facts of science alonewe lost much when we abandoned our stories, and our culture's emphasis on a mechanistic worldview, while bringing us much, has also brought us ecological, social, and spiritual crises.
David brings life to the scientific study of the Universe, transforming it into a lyrical narrative of the story of Creation. In this talk, he will present highlights of this "new story" from his book, The Holy Universe, which brings this story to life through a dialogue between a Seeker and his Sage. They explore the lyrical tale of the creation of the Universe, from the formation of galaxies, stars, planets, and life, through the emergence of humanity, all the way up to the global challenges that we now face as a human family.
The two then turn to how this evolutionary story of creation might help us through the crises of our ageand why these crises might be the best thing to happen to humanity.
Come learn how we can make sense of what we have wrought upon on the planet and on each other, what we can do to change our stories and our actions, and how we can help ourselves discover an authentic, sacred path through these trying times.
