Mark Mulcahy and Special Guests
Former frontman of the influential '80s indie-rock band Miracle Legion and its offshoot Polaris, a band invented for the cult classic TV show Adventures of Pete & Pete, singer-songwriter Mark Mulcahy is lauded by his peers Nick Hornby, Thom Yorke, Frank Black, Michael Stipe, and others. After taking some time off, the admired musician has reemerged with his first album in eight years, Dear Mark J. Mulcahy, I Love Youan eagerly anticipated collection of expertly crafted, charismatic folk-pop songs. Mulcahy was a recent featured artist in the Lincoln Center's American Songbook series.

REVIEWS of 'Dear Mark J. Mulcahy, I Love You'

"From start to finish, Dear Mark J. Mulcahy is a treat. In fact, it may be his best yet.' - Pitchfork 7.7

"Mulcahy's been busy reinventing himself as a Lou Reedesque street poet. Rich with broken yet proud hustlers, it's gritty urban dramas never became too heavy-hearted, the breezy tunes blowing through like prime Jonathan Richman."  - Mojo 4*s

"A set of lean and seductively freewheeling, vaguely alt-country toned pop songs with a knockabout cool and great arrangements, that show off the singer's trademark, wryly reflective lyrics to a T." - Uncut

"Now he returns with Dear Mark J. Mulcahy, I Love You' yet another feather in the cap of one of American music's most deserving-and one of its most puzzlingly underappreciated-singer-songwriters" - Ben Greenman, The New Yorker

"Dear Mark J. Mulcahy fights against darkness with bright, wryly warbled folk-pop that can recall the Velvet Underground or Loudon Wainwright III or the post-REM college-rock Mulcahy made in Eighties band Miracle Legion" - Rolling Stone
