CANCELLED--Essex Street Market Tour--a Lower East Side History Month event
Dating back to 1940, the Essex Street Market is a community-driven market, changing with the times while remembering the past. The Essex Street Market has been home to an array of food purveyors catering to the tastes of the Lower East Side.
Currently home to over 20 food shops and eating establishments, the market offers a multi-ethnic experience from Latin vegetables to Scandinavian food to Heritage breed meats.
The shops in the Essex Street Market offer fresh, delicious, and well-priced food. Get to know the shop owners and their staff while enjoying a variety of samples on this two hour tour.
Samples may include fresh baked muffins, hand-rolled bagels, heart-warming soup, hand-made Greek pastries, farmstead cheese, bean-to-bar chocolate, and artisanal ice cream.
Bring a tote bag...there's plenty of time to shop after the tour!
THIS TOUR IS OFFERED AS PART OF THE LOWER EAST SIDE HISTORY MONTH.
Unlike other Enthusiastic Gourmet Food Tours, which have a maximum capacity of 8 people, this special tour can accommodate 12 people.
