SAWTOOTH
SAWTOOTH dancers are interested in dark humor, unexpected/unwelcome surprises, entitlement, indulgence, and exploring pleasures that range from kitschy to morbid. From self-launch to self-surrender, SAWTOOTH is interested in endless expansion and total collapse.
CRISTINA JASEN (Choreographer/Performer) is a Buffalo native and a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College. She began her formal dance training at David DeMarie StudiosÂand she continued with summer studies at New York State Summer School of the Arts as well as Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp in Colorado Springs, CO on partial scholarship.
Cristina has performed in NYC, Brooklyn, Denver and Boston. In 2003, her work was commissioned by a group of local dance artists in Denver, and she made her choreographic debut at the Cleo Parker Robinson Theater. In the NYC area, she has shown work at Sarah Lawrence College, Greenspace Studios, Spoke the Hub Dancing and Dance New Amsterdam. Cristina currently studies drumming at Flood Studios in Brooklyn.
This work is made possible in part by a Harkness Space Grant from the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center.
