 The Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation is proud to present a Benefit Concert featuring two time Grammy Award Winner, Mary Youngblood, "First Lady of the Flute". Ticket sales will help purchase a new ultrasound machine dedicated for use in the Breast Imaging Center to aid in early cancer detection. Event is Sunday May 31st, 2009 at 2:00pm. Event will be held at The Don Baggett Theater - 11645 Ridge Road, Grass Valley, CA. 95945
Mary Youngblood - With rich vibrato and notes that melt into your heart, Mary Youngblood takes the artistry of the Native American Flute to its highest level . Her haunting music is much more than a song its liquid poetry, a prayer. What is this music like? Like plush carpets in a misty forest. Like hot chocolate on a mountaintop. At once familiar and soothing and yet ethereal and evocative of the elements. The acoustic quality and rich inspiration Mary Youngblood provides are truly remarkable.
