Join the renowned EXIT 9 Percussion Group for PICTURES 2009, an afternoon of chamber music inspired by visual art. The concert features premiere performances of the winning pieces from the 4th Annual NJAC Student Composition Contest. The 2009 contest asked NJ students to write music inspired by Queensborough Bridge, a painting by Elsie Driggs displayed in the Montclair Art Museum. EXIT 9 Percussion Group will perform works by these talented students, who represent the best of NJ's young composers. In addition, the Quartet will premiere the 2009 Ionisation Commission SPAN, a new work by New Jersey's own Darren Gage. Don't miss this exciting event!
Come early at 1:30pm to hear a pre-concert panel featuring Contest Winners and members of the Contest Jury.
