But the alternative energy of comedy shines brightly at Democracy Burlesque! Chicago's only theatre company devoted to political satire and sketch comedy proudly presents I MELT WITH YOU SKETCH COMEDY ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING (IF YOU BELIEVE THAT SORT OF THING).
Join the Actors of Evil and an array of stand-up comedians, musicians, and other guest artists every Tuesday from April 1 through April 29 at 7:30pm at MARY'S ATTIC, 5400 North Clark Street.Tickets are $15, $12 for students.
Doors open at 7:00, and patrons are encouraged to come early to purchase DB's signature cocktail, the "Dirty Politik," or one of Hamburger Mary's made-on-the-premises microbrews.
Each week, Democracy Burlesque invites a local community organization or nonprofit group to raise money during the show. Among the "Causes Celebre" raising money during I Melt With You will include the Nuclear Energy Information Service, Rising Tide, and more!
Global warming is real! And you will laugh until your ice caps melt.
