Project YouthView 2009
Alameda Theatre & Cineplex Alameda , CA
Project YouthView, presented by Alternatives in Action, East Bay ROP, and Comcast, in partnership with Radical Medical Group, is a premier Bay Area film festival that celebrates the power of youth with a showing of films by and about youth. Project YouthView showcases youth-created film shorts submitted by youth from across the San Francisco Bay Area.
In addition, Project YouthView also features a documentary that tells the story of young people taking action in their lives and in their communities. The event becomes an opportunity for intergenerational dialogue between youth filmmakers, veteran filmmakers and audience members about the issues of importance to young people and the power that young people have to make a difference. This year, Project YouthView will feature the Oscar-nominated documentary, Trouble the Water, created from raw footage filmed by two young people in their 20's living in the 9th ward.
Now in its fifth year, Project YouthView 2009 (PYV 09) will be presented on Thursday May 7, 2009 at Alameda Theatre and Cineplex. All proceeds benefit the youth programs of Alternatives in Action which prepares and inspires young people to develop their leadership potential.
