| Description |
Release your inner gospel singer at GospelSING! The Joyful Voices of Inspiration Choir will perform traditional and contemporary black gospel music with the soaring, soulful, energetic, open hearted sound for which they are known internationally. You are encouraged to sing along with these rousing gospel songs that lift spirits and hearts in joyful harmonies. Often the choir members will be interspersed throughout the audience, making it easy to learn powerful, soul stirring harmonies. To warm up the audience, Vocal Arts Collaborative* members will lead a rousing gospel singalong.
A past participant described GospelSING! as "a jubilant, exhilirating evening of song and harmony. It made everyone's hearts soar with collective joy! The strong voices and excellent direction of the Joyful Voices of Inspiration made it easy to learn words and parts. Participants arrived as strangers, but became a united community of powerful and exuberant singers, and left with wonderful and positive memories of uplifted voices and spirits."
Joyful Voices, now in its tenth season, is a diverse, nondenominational community of more than 30 singers who celebrate the joy, power, and harmonious message of gospel music. They promote appreciation of gospel music as both an inspirational medium and an important Afro-American art form. They have brought their celebration of black gospel music and interracial harmony to audiences around the world, including Italy, Brazil, France, and Holland.
*This event is a fundraiser for the Vocal Arts Collaborative, a non-profit founded in 1996 to promote harmony through community singing.
