Berks Movie Madness Film Festival: "TVP," "Mattie Fresno," "Townies"

Sunday, October 8. 1-6 p.m. $5 admission. Another afternoon of unusual films with a local connections. "Towards the Vanishing Point," photographed by Wilson High grad Megan Ulrich, is based on the visual strategy and symbolic meaning of the work of artist Edward Hopper. "Mattie Fresno and the Holoflux Universe," directed by Phil Gallo, is a 2005 comedy/drama/fantasy. Appearing in it is Victor Colicchio of Kutztown, most recently seen with Denzel Washington in "Inside Man." The film "Townies" made by Brett Bagenstose and his Neo Pangea buddies is a 2004 work described as a "Clerks" meets "Office Space" in a John Hughes-style coming-of-age comedy. People involved in all three of these movies will be on hand today for Q&As. Also, Neo Pangea is planning a re-release party for an updated version of "Townies."
