This is Caff Lenas annual celebration of that most enduringly popular brand of folk music: acoustic blues. Each year around this time we fill our room with the mesmerizing, sweet and sad sounds of the Mississippi Delta. Three artists are chosen, providing a mix of contemporary and traditional blues, varying styles and instrumentation. This year's line-up features the Root Blues Revival of Saratoga's own bluesmen Mark Tolstrup and Dale Haskell, the renowned harmonica and guitar of Albany's Glenn Weiser, and the contemporary blues of North Carolina's Jon Shain.
Each will offer an afternoon workshop in their area of specialty, and will share the stage for an evening round robin performance.
Note: Caffe Lena is an all-ages listening room that does not serve alcohol. Desserts, light vegetarian fare, and organic fair-trade coffee are offered at all shows. //
