Slow Food Lake Tahoe's Sustainable Seafood Dinner
This is an educational event offered to the community to raise consciousness about why sustainable seafood is important and how you can take action as a consumer in the Tahoe area.
Located At Mamasake in the Village at Squaw Valley $45 includes a delicious prefix meal created by Elsa Corrigan using local and sustainable ingredients: -Best of the Garden Salad -Kona Kanpachi Carpaccio -NOT Unagi Blast Roll -Miso Marinated Black Cod -Kiwi and Satsuma mandarin custard Parfait
Why is Sustainable Seafood Important? We will have a presentation and discussion with Elsa Corrigan who is the Owner and Chef at Mamasake Restaurant in Squaw Valley (Mamasake.com) and Brand Little Owner and Fisherman of The Little Fish Company who is Tahoe's freshest source of wild caught fish (Wildlittlefish.com).
Can the Oceans Keep Up with the Hunt? We will show this short 15 minute film by the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch program (Seafoodwatch.org)
Raffle- We will hold a raffle for a unique piece of awesome Fish inspired artwork charitably contributed by Ryan Bahlman of RynoArt!
This event builds on Slow Food Lake Tahoe's mission to reconnect our community to the enjoyment of local, seasonal and sustainable food.
All produce is being provided by the Tahoe Food Hub.
