Slo 'Mo presents: No Ordinary Love @ Chop Shop (Vday)
Slo 'Mo is showing the love on Valentine's Day with this special Sade inspired edition of Chicago's favorite slow jams showdown hosted by Kristen Kaza. Resident DJ Tess and very special guest DJ Matt Roan will be laying down the love grooves you want to hear from Stevie, Anita, Prince, Aaliyah, D'Angelo and more. WeTheory will be curating the video playlist for visual delights.
No line, no worries: This Satellite Slo 'Mo is going down at Wicker Park's newest venue, the gorgeous 450 capacity Chop Shop. There will also be three bars and gender neutral bathrooms within the event space for total comfort and ease. Tickets are $10 and include sweet treats, a complimentary Slo Punch, and entry into a raffle for multiple sexy prizes including dinner for two to Chop Shop & a pair of tickets to Sidewalk Chalk's album release party 2/21 at Double Door, a custom Sade tee from DrinkBlackWater, gift certificates to Silver Room and Una Mae's, and more.
The event is space is in the BACK of Chop Shop. When you enter the building, you'll see the Chop Shop deli and bar; the event space is beyond the bar, and within it will be the gender neutral bathrooms, mobile cash bars (ATM on site), and dance party.
Slo 'Mo: Slow jams for homos (and their fans) is Chicago's award-winning party for lovers hosted by Kristen Kaza with grooves by Tess. Slo 'Mo's residency at Logan Square's The Whistler takes place the third Thursday of every month, and Satellite Slo 'Mos are hosted sporadically around the city. Former Satellite Slo 'Mos include: Slo 'Mo H20 - Chicago Reader's Pride Cruise, the Slo 'Mo Spectacular at Bottom Lounge, and Night of the Disco Dead at the Shrine.
Slo 'Mo welcomes people of all identities, bodies and expressions uniting under the equal opportunistic style of soul music.
