Ableton Live - 101
Make the music you've always wanted to with Ableton Live, a powerful tool for music production used by professional producers worldwide. In this 16 hour introductory course, you will learn how to use Live's devices, loops, effects and instruments to create your own music. This course will walk you through the entire process of creating a song from start to finish with hands on examples and exercises. You will leave with an understanding of how to utilize both the session and arrangement view to create music, arrange a song and apply basic mixing techniques.
The course is broken down into 4 class session days and 2 (optional) workshop days where you will be able to follow up and have your questions answered, receive feedback, share with the class and review.

Day 1: Learn the Live interface and leave being able to create beats, bass lines and chord progressions using Lives drum rack and instruments.
Part 1: Session View, MIDI and Creation Phase (2 Hours)
Activity: Create your first drum beat!
The Music Production Process Interface and Navigation Tour Drum Programming, Drum Racks and creating groove MIDI and transform tools
Part 2: Bass Lines and Chords (2 Hours) Lives Instruments MIDI Effects and Controllers Writing Techniques Packs and Help Files
Activity: Write a bass line and chord progression!
Day 2: Working with Audio, Loops and Samples (2 Hours)
Activity: Manipulate loops and samples
Working with Loops, Samples & Warping Convert Harmony, Melody and Drums to MIDI Creative Sampling with Slice to New MIDI
Day 3: Workshop (2 Hours)

Day 4: Moving into the Arrangement
Part 1: Arrangement View and refining your song (2 Hours)
Activity: Perform your song into the arrangement.

Activity: Refine the song in the arrangement view
