The Mega Lo Mania Tour (N. HOLLYWOOD)
Random aka Mega Ran
Raheem Jarbo, better known as Random or Mega Ran, personifies what Hip-Hop should be: Spontaneous, fun, and true. Every album conveys a different theme, a different vibe and a different emotion. You can, however, expect the unexpected from Random, hence the name. After teaching himself to make beats on the MTV Music Generator software for PlayStation, Random landed a job at a Philadelphia studio as a producer and engineer. During downtime, he would create his first demo tape. This led to Random signing with indie label RAHM Nation Recordings and releasing his debut album, The Call, in 2006. Random made waves by going way left of his backpack roots when he released "Mega Ran" in 2007. It was an album completely comprised of sampled 8-bit beats from the hit video game series "Mega Man."
The Radioactive Chicken Heads Not your average band of poultry punks and giant mutant vegetables, the Radioactive Chicken Heads are rapidly spreading their genetically modified rock 'n' roll across the planet...Beware, if you are reading this, you may have already been contaminated.
This motley group of mutants were born in the laboratory of mad scientist Dr. Baron Von Kluckinstein, who was conducting experiments to create super-sized frankenfoods.
Tired of being cooped up all day in the dreary lab, the Radioactive Chicken Heads escaped to freedom and have since dedicated their lives to cluckin' rockin' out.
Since making their national television debut on the Tyra Banks show in 2006, the Radioactive Chicken Heads have toured the US and Canada with fellow puppet rockers Green Jelly, released 3 full length albums, 7 music videos, contributed tracks to numerous compilations, and have even produced their own video game.
By exposing the masses to their musical mayhem, the band hopes to bridge the gap between all humans, chickens, and vegetables on earth and beyond!
The Megas
The Megas is a Los Angeles based independent video game cover band based on the Capcom franchise, Mega Man. They differentiate themselves from artists who have played Mega Man music in the past by adding original lyrics and composing new sections which blend seamlessly with the original compositions. Their lyrics expand on the simple story laid out in the games, giving each of the 8 robot masters a unique personality. Their debut album, Get Equipped, based on Mega Man 2, was released in January 2008. The band has gained notoriety in the video game music scene due to their popularity on sites like Newgrounds and MySpace, as well as numerous live performances all over the United States, primarily at video game conventions and festivals such as MAGfest, Nerdapalooza, and various dates of the Video Games Live tour. Their song "The Annihilation of Monsteropolis/Airman" was featured on the front page of the popular video game music remixing site OverClocked ReMix, and most recently the band was mentioned on Wired magazine's blog, the official Capcom blog and an article on Gibson Guitars' website.
Wizwars
Wizwars is the electronic project of LA resident Kevin Hagge. The music is almost entirely taken from a Nintendo GameBoy which he also uses to produce music during live performances. Mostly fast paced, the music is high energy and delivers upon listening a certain "feel good" feeling reminiscent of actually playing a Gameboy.
