Coming Back Cinema Presents: The Hudsucker Proxy
Using the clout they earned from the critical acclaim of Barton Fink, the Coen Brothers set out to make a big budget, beautiful, fast talking comedy. The results are one of the greatest comedies ever made. Co-written by The Evil Dead's Sam Raimi, The Hudsucker Proxy stars Tim Robbins as Norville Barnes, a good ole boy who gets in over his head when he is promoted to president of the company he works the mail room in. The film feels like a throw back to comedies of the past but also ahead of it's time, even today. And rarely does a comedy more demand to be seen on the big screen. It is absolutely gorgeous.
