Join us for this concert to mark the release of CD Album 'Colours of the Heart' by Midori Komachi and Simon Callaghan
Highly sought after for their performances of the Delius Violin Sonatas, these two award-winning artists, have based this new album around their 'Delius and Gauguin' project, which celebrates the colourful inspiration shared by the composer Frederick Delius and painter Paul Gauguin, along with pieces by other closely associated composers.
This concert, which will be the first of their CD release concert tour, focuses on Delius' early influences from his close friend, Edvard Grieg.
'Colours of the Heart' will be available at a special introductory price at this concert.

Midori Komachi has performed as a soloist and chamber musician extensively throughout Europe and Japan. Midori made her debut as a soloist at the age of 12 with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Howard Griffiths. Since then she has appeared in major venues, including Tonhalle Zurich, Tokyo Opera City Hall (Japan), Philharmony Warsaw and Wigmore Hall, London. Midori has won numerous prizes, such as the Friends of RAM/Honorary Patrons' Development Award, Max Pirani Prize, Sir Arthur Bliss Prize and MBF Emerging Excellence Award. As a founder of the 'Delius and Gauguin' Project, Midori has been featured in various publications such as the Japanese Financial Times 'Nikkei', and was awarded the Delius Society Certificate in 2013. www.midorikomachi.com
Simon Callaghan's recent engagements have included Wigmore Hall, Fairfield Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. He has performed throughout the UK, Japan, South Korea, Austria, France and Belgium and has been featured on BBC TV and radio. Simon has an extensive concerto repertoire of over 25 works and has worked with many orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.He has also recently released a two-disc recording of Delius orchestral works in arrangements for two pianos with Hiroaki Takenouchi, and two further discs of Brahms, with James Barralet, both on the SOMM label. www.simoncallaghan.com
