Valley V-Day once again is a proud participant in the V-Day 2014 Campaign, having been granted the rights for a V-Day benefit production of Eve Ensler's award-winning play, "The Vagina Monologues."
Proceeds from these performances benefit V-Day, an international movement dedicated to ending violence against women and girls, as well as a local organization called "Roots to Resistance". Roots To Resistance is an art and activism project/campaign which involves the painting of full sized portraits of 12 individual women activists from around the world working to end violence against women and girls. Roots to Resistance also involves a political postcard campaign that links people from every place on the globe with the work of these women. Similar to the Vagina Monologues, Roots to Resistance seeks to engage people and connect people in political, social, environmental, intuitive and creative ways by connecting people with the art, giving us a format to act, with the accompanying postcards and helping us bring the connection home to the living planet.
Tickets are available on a sliding scale, see listings. This is a fundraiser, all proceeds get donated to V-Day and Roots to Resistance, please be as generous as you can. No one will be turned away for an inability to purchase a ticket, please let us know if you need financial assistance.
Seating is first come first serve.
The shows are Friday February 14th and Saturday February 15th starting at 8pm, doors open at 7:30pm. For more information contact ValleyVday@gmail.com.
TICKETS will AVAILABLE ONLINE for both shows UNTIL Friday February 14th at 8am, after that you will have to purchase them at the door the nights of the performance!
