Join us for a special episode of the Chuckanut Radio Hour, hosted at the Heiner Theater of Whatcom Community College. Our guest for our February show is Willy Vlautin for his novel, The Free. In his heartbreaking yet hopeful fourth novel, award-winning author Vlautin demonstrates his extraordinary talent for illuminating the disquiet of modern American life, captured in the experiences of three memorable characters enduring a host of crisesfinancial, familial, and existentialand looking for meaning in distressing times. Vlautin is the author of The Motel Life, Northline, and Lean on Pete, and the singer and songwriter of the band Richmond Fontaine. He will also be tonight's musical guest.

Each Chuckanut Radio Hour features a guest author and includes guest musicians, performance poet Kevin Murphy, Cascadia Weekly columnist Alan Rhodes, an episode of "The Bellingham Bean" serial radio comedy, and some groaner jokes by hosts Chuck & Dee Robinson and announcer Rich Donnelly.
