Dead Man and Radio Moscow
Fast-rising Swedish rock band Dead Man will be coming to the Riviera Theatre in support of their critically acclaimed new album, Euphoria! The quartet, quickly becoming known for its colorful songwriting and dynamic live performances, will be playing the Riviera as the only Michigan show on its debut U.S. tour!
Dead Man, whose members possess a wealth of musical experience derived from time spent in various Swedish acts, play magnetic, spirited rock with melancholic undertones and "a slight touch of darkness" - calling for comparisons to Jefferson Airplane, Blue Cheer, Dungen and Dead Meadow. Each member of the quartet is a multi-instrumentalist, which allows the band to build unique, lush atmospheres replete with both acoustic tinge and electric crunch. Dead Man features Kristoffer Sjdahl (electric, acoustic & slide guitar, mandolin, percussion & vocals,) Marcus Allard (drums, percussion and vocals,) Joakim Dimberg (bass, synthesizer, organ, guitar & vocals,) and Johan Rydholm (acoustic guitar, percussion & vocals.)
Touring with Dead Man, Radio Moscow is a blues/psychedelic rock band from Ames, Iowa with a sound reminiscent of such bands as Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. They're a band with many eyes on them, with some industry experts citing Parker Griggs as the best guitarist they've seen play.... Radio Moscow spent a large part of last year touring Europe, and have just completed recording their second full-length album, which will be released April 14th. Only $8 in advance, $10 at the door; doors open at 8pm, show begins at 9. Check out Dead Man at www.myspace.com/deadmansweden, and Radio Moscow at www.myspace.com/radiomoscow!
