The Fife is Right!: The 9th Annual Old South History Challenge
Think you know Boston?

Find out! Be part of "The Fife Is Right"*, the popular annual live-action quiz show at one of the nation's most important colonial historic sites, the magnificent Old South Meeting House.

This year's theme: Musical Boston!

This year's competition will have feet tapping and brains stumped as we explore all things musical in our melodious city's past - from Beantown-bred singers to songs about the Hub, from William Billings to Jonathan Richman and beyond.

Challenge your knowledge of Boston and its music against  Quizmaster Susan Wilson, historian of all things Boston and our two teams of panelists.

Our teams cannot win "a cappella" - they need you to accompany them! The audience is part of the action, offering life-lines, voting on answers and more.

This year's panelists:

David Coffin, performer of traditional and contemporary folk music and Master of Ceremonies for Revels

Fredericka King, acclaimed pianist performing in the United States, Europe, and South America as a soloist and collaborative artist and Senior Music Historian in residence at Emerson College.

Carrie Cheron, Boston based singer and songwriter and Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music

Charles Bahne, historian and author of Chronicles of Old Boston and The Complete Guide to Boston's Freedom Trail

Gretchen Grozier, President of the Jamaica Plain Historical Society and tour leader for Boston By Foot and the Boston Public Library

No matter how much you know when you walk in, you will discover something new and leave an expert!

PLUS a special pre-program performance by Mssng Lnks, nurturing and unleashing the voices of urban youth of color in musical theater and classical vocal music

*Why is it called The Fife is Right? Because you'll hear a cheery tune on the fife for every correct answer of course! (How else could Boston's famous 1729 colonial gathering place signal success?!)

Now in it's ninth year, tickets for this event sell quickly.

ALL TICKETS AT THE DOOR ON APRIL 2 ARE $18 EACH.
