The Dusty 45's play the Blue Sage
The Dusty 45's, Seattle's Rockabilly, swing and jump blues band, will fill the dance floor and knock your socks off. Rousing horns and sizzling original numbers. They've opened for Adelle, rocked Seattle's biggest venues, and now they'll play for us how lucky can you get?
The Dusty 45's have been rocking the Seattle music scene for over a decade. Their reputation for rousing shows featuring great musicianship is spreading; they've opened for Adelle and accompanied the legendary Wanda Jackson on stage, as well as playing for Seattle's July 4th family event. Playing a mix of Rockabilly, Swing and Jump Blues, originals, and classics like Buddy Holly ballads, gives them broad appeal for audiences of all ages, and most especially, for dancers.
We've been lucky enough to book the band on their swing through the western states. Billy Joe Huels brings a charismatic stage presence along with his lead vocals and fiery trumpet playing. Jerry Battista plays lead guitar, and has earned the distinction of being voted "Best Guitarist" by Seattle Weekly. Kelly VanKamp plays drums and harmonica, sometimes at the same time. He's performed and recorded with many top musicians, such as Mike McCready of Pearl Jam. And Jeff Gray rounds out the group playing upright base.
Besides all this, the Dusty 45's are really good hearted guys. You'll remember this show for a long time to come.
