Br'er Rabbit Presents A Bellingham String Band Solstice

BR'ER RABBIT is a folk + roots band based in Bellingham, WA. Combining each member's unique influences ranging from jazz to Leadbelly to The Lumineers, blending three distinct vocal styles, and adding copious amounts of foot-stomping, they demonstrate a sound and presence that's at once original and familiar, appealing to audiences of all generations and genres. Voted Best Band in Bellingham in 2013 (Cascadia Weekly), they are currently touring the western U.S. and preparing material for their first full-length album, to be recorded in early 2014 at the famed Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, WA and released this coming spring. THE BLACKBERRY BUSHES The Appalachian Mountains are the oldest mountains in the world, and the Mississippi River is the most musical river ever known. Jes Raymond and Jakob Breitbach may have met in the rainy bottom of the Puget Sound, but their music is vibrantly infused with the essence of the homes they wandered west from. Joined by Portland, OR native Taylor Kent on the upright bass, The Blackberry Bushes are a bluegrass trio who draw from these deep roots of American traditional music to create a playful and resonant sound with both twang and sophistication. Joyful singing and enchanting songwriting are supported by carefully constructed soundscapes that feature virtuosic fiddle and bowed bass.

DAVID'S DRINKING BAND specializes in bluegrass and drinking songs. They will lead you around Dixieland, up to good old Rocky Top Tennessee, and back down to the river to pray all in pursuit of a jar of moonshine whiskey. The band is comprised of hard driving, hard drinking members who sing like angels and pick like demons. DDB's revivalist sound incorporates classic 3 part bluegrass harmonies and features guitar, mandolin, and double bass.
