A Doll's House has always been defined as a feminist piece. This TAAC adaptation has changed up the traditional casting to highlight Nora's struggle, not as a woman, but as a wife. With a past mistake weighing heavy on her heart and blackmail forcing her grip on the world away from her, Nora desperately tries to hold on to life as she knows it, the only life she's ever known.
For this production, TAAC will introduce a Brechtian staging. We'll be distancing you from the plot and the drama so that you can observe critically, gather your own opinions. This style emphasizes our theme for this production, "Nothing is at it seems."
Dollhouse is the final show of TAAC's 2013 season, and it will feature TAAC member, Alexandria Quinonez, as Nora and newcomer, Lauren Wolf, as Torvald. Through new eyes, we present a piece of theatre whose reputation precedes it.
We've reimagined Dollhouse. Come get lost with us.
