PARSIFAL WORTHY, written by Tony Award winner Mark Medoff (CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD), is directed by his daughter Jessica. This is a holiday play about a man who still believes that we should do unto others as we'd like others to do unto us. However, when the amount of ill others do to Parse Worthy becomes too mountainous, Parse contemplates suicide. He is wavering in the wind atop a theater under restoration, about to jump, when a strange woman named Penelope appears on a bicycle and stops him. It seems, she can work magic, though she has some disagreements with whatever mysterious force sent her to Parse's rescue. Together, Parse and Penelope take a journey of redemption, through rage at and disappointment in humankind to a reaffirmation of faith in Faith. This show features a large cast of highly entertaining characters, some good, some bad, some really bad, that offer Parse and Penelope support and obstacles in reuniting Parse and his family. PARSIFAL WORTHY has a lot of laughs and laughter in it; and is appropriate for children.
Performances will take place in the Robert E. Nims Theatre in the UNO Performing Arts Center, and will run November 19th through November 23rd at 7:30pm, and Sunday November 24th at 2:30pm.
