KITKA -- International Women's Day Concert
St. John's Presbyterian Church Berkeley, CA
Join us on International Womens Day, as KITKA celebrates the voices and lives of women with a special program of folk songs from Eastern Europe and beyond, in both traditional and contemporary settings. The virtuosic Bulgarian folkloric soprano Tzvetanka Varimezova is featured as a special guest soloist in the stunning pieces by Bulgarian composer Krassimir Kjurkchiiski, whose work was made internationally famous by the Grammy Award winning ensemble Les Mystre des Voix Bulgares.
