Transfigured Night
Sinai Temple Los Angeles, CA
Contemporary Dance set to Rescued Jewish Music
Featuring bodyTRAFFIC & LA Jewish Symphony
Transfigured Night features the work of renowned Israeli choreographic team Guy Weizman & Roni Haver. It is set to Arnold Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht, which was banned during the Holocaust. The set was designed by Ascon de Nijs and was inspired by painters who depicted crumbling architecture during the Nazi regime. The costumes are designed by Swinda Reichelt who participated in the Silent Marches of Berlin. The evening at Sinai Temple will be accompanied by the Members of the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony (LAJS) featuring concert master Mark Kashper.
