Cindy Lou Johnson's BRILLIANT TRACES was first performed at the Circle Repertory Company at the Cherry Lane Theatre, New York City in 1989. Directed as a company cooperative, this unlikely winter romance opens in a remote Alaskan cabin during a terrible blizzard. A mysterious man is sleeping the cold night away when his door is thrown open by a distraught young woman in a wedding gown. The storm rages outside for days as the two, forced together through circumstance, examine their lives and the events that led them to the snowbound cabin.
