Ladytron makes electronic pop music, using an array of vintage analogue equipment to achieve their distinct sound. Albums so far have focused on a balance between pop structures and digitally edited analogue electronic sound, along with some more experimental leanings. All four members write songs differently, which adds to the eclectic nature of their albums. Their third album, Witching Hour, saw an augmentation of their sound, leading the album to be described by Pitchfork as a "quantum leap record".Ladytron have produced remixes for many artists including Placebo, Blondie, Gang of Four, David Gahan, Goldfrapp, Bloc Party, Kings of Convenience, Indochine, Apoptygma Berzerk, She Wants Revenge, Soulwax, Nine Inch Nails and Simian.

SUGAR SHORT WAVE

Sugar Short Wave is a Portland based musician, engineer, producer, and film maker originally from Kentucky, who moved west for a taste of life and some sweeter sense of sound. She maintains an openness towards creation through her own patented sensory delay method of rehabilitating music structure for a tuned and well adjusted audience. Intricately arranged pieces are recreated line by line as the multi-instrumentalist plays and loops upright bass, guitars, keys, beats, purrs, and breath into song. Film is a passion, and given the right opportunity and space, sound and image collide. Each show Sugar Short Wave arranges is is different than the last, as she would say " Predictabilty should be avoided."

Multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer Rena Jones is a force to be reckoned with. At age 30, she boasts more than 30 collaborative albums, 3 full length solo albums, 20 years of classical violin study, and 12 years of celloand she is considered one of the leading women in audio engineering today. -- Strings Magazine
