The Levins: Hidden Saints and Drunken Sages
Come join The Levins for the CD release of "36" (based on the a legend of the Lamed Vavniks who keep the world in balance) and enjoy a preview of their upcoming 2009 release, My Friend Hafiz, a collection of original songs inspired by the poetry of Hafiz. Whether you call it World Folk or Middle Eastern Americana, their warm harmonies and world beat will bring you back to your center. Their lyrical tapestries and lightheartedness will help you stay there.
Ira Levin, Bay Area singing storyteller and songleader and Julia Bordenaro Levin of Vocolot are joined by cellist, T.Hallenbeck, tabla player, Aharon Wheels Bolsta and percussionist Elizabeth Stuart, also of Vocolot, for an evening of mild abandonment for the mystic in you.
